The Gold Coast's first-ever “Open House” was held last October 2015. This year the Gold Coast Open House is set to open its doors to the public. So get ready to explore the city's diverse architecture and historic buildings on November 5.
There will be around 30 venues to visit. Though this event is free, some buildings require reservations as there will be some guided on-site talks and tours which will be led by the architects and design practitioners themselves.
If you want to capture the beauty of each building, not to worry as photography is permitted. You can even submit your photo to Gold Coast Open House' Focus on Architecture Photography Competition. Just make sure to send your entry on November 8 by 5pm.
To help you on your discovery, here are a few of the many buildings you can visit.
Q1 & SkyPoint: The Q1 building is one of the tallest all-residential building in the world. It has 77 floors which you can travel in 43 seconds riding the express elevator and features the SkyPoint Observation Deck on the top floor. SkyPoint offers 360 degree view of the Gold Coast.

In addition, the Bill Short memorial stained glass window was also added. Know more about the design concept and history on your visit.
